MMO Round Table Unveiled
This doesn’t come as news to my regular readers, but I thought that since Aggro Me did such a nice write-up on it and Moorgard attempted to lay all the blame on its existence on me, I better say something else about it. So, what in the world is MMO Round Table? It’s a collaborative project in which myself, Moorgard, and Aggro Me have come together to become a mmonopoly (you wouldn’t believe how much laughing went on when Moorgard and I started trying to say that word out loud) in the MMO game discussion space.
Truthfully, I saw a bit of a gap in the game design and development discussion forum world. There are other sites out there with some similar types of discussion, but most of them have become rant fests at this point, and it’s tough to intelligently discuss design when people are just going to flame you for being cordial. That’s when the Nerfbat Tavern was born. See this entry for the full description of the Tavern, which eventually became the MMO Round Table Forums.
After creating the Tavern, I decided it might be a cool idea to follow through on one of my other initiatives that had not yet taken place, called the MMO Round Table. It would be a place in which those who enjoy discussing MMO games could get together, and the main page would be an aggregation of posts from the Knights who use the forums as their own official forums. And so it was.
It didn’t take much convincing to get Moorgard and Aggro Me on board, because they too wanted a centralized location for intelligent discussion of game development. Will the Knights of the MMO Round Table recruit more? Quite possibly, yes. We’re looking around for people now who fit the profile: Bloggers who are intelligent, don’t rant too much, discuss game development, and who don’t have official forums of their own.
The forums are going extremely well. Better than I imagined they would, even. Check out my first Tales from the Tavern post for a few of the gems, but there are quite a few more in there now. In fact, the forums have been around for just over two weeks and there are about 700 posts, each of which is well-thought-out and non-ranty. That’s the hardest part to believe.
Join the Knights of the MMO Round Table in our discussion forums and discuss game design, development, and gaming in general. If you want to make those your blog’s official discussion forums, feel free to contact me and plead your case.

[...] While the quantity of blogs on MMOs is somewhat hard to keep up with,?there’s some truly great thoughts out there. Several of my favourite daily reads have recently gotten together to form a self described MMO Round Table. [...]
I hopped on the wagon. Not sure how often I’ll be posting, but I’ll stop by every now and then to read.
