Selling Your Soul for Page Views
I have an article in issue 106 of the Escapist entitled, Selling Your Soul for Page Views. Pretty sweet title, huh? I didn’t actually come up with the title, but I still like it. I basically talk about journalistic integrity and why people don’t have it. I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if it stirred up a little bit of trouble, but I don’t particularly care. Let me know if you enjoy it.

Congratulations on being in The Escapist. That is great. I really liked the article too. There are certainly many pressures when it comes to writing your opinions for the public to read.
Well said. It’s always a visible downward spiral as soon as a respectable site gets mass-attention and a couple of exclusive scoops. A few world exclusive previews later and EA are releasing clever, original, cutting edge and fun games by the shed load. Don’t stand out for being a messenger for the Big Dollar – stand out for being the only reliable source of coverage. Word.
Well said in the article.
I’ve been struggling with this very aspect with several people. What’s the old addage? “Say what you mean and mean what you say”? Seems simple enough, yet somehow, oh so difficult to follow through with for some.
