Several interviews have gone up over the past few weeks. You may get some insight into what’s going on here at 38 Studios, or maybe you know everything there is to know about us already. Either way, check out the interviews! In chronological order: TenTonHammer interviews Brett Close. WarCry interviews Brett Close. MPOGD interviews Mary Kirchoff, Gamasutra interviews R.A. Salvatore and Brett Close. Enjoy the leet infos.

Thanks for the links:)
Good read, but you guys answer questions like the president of Iran!
Interviewer: “So you are making a game, what’s it about?”
38 Studios: “We aren’t making a game! Who told you we are making a game. We don’t have games here in Massachusetts like they do in California.”
Stop spending precious time doing interviews and get the game complete!
Bobs on a book signing tour right now. Perhaps everyone should go to the signings and harass him
You know, Blizzard is working on a new game. It’s working title is “Hydra”, and the people working on it are collectively called “Team 3″. It’s a closely held secret. As a result, Blizz doesn’t hold repeated news conferences or offer interviews to reporters, then paradoxically refuse to discuss anything about Team 3 or Hydra.
And yet I get the overall impression that 38 Studios does just that. I want this game, and studio, to be successful, but each interview seems like a fluff piece in which the same known facts (and precious few they are) get discussed over, and over, and over again.
1. We’re producing an MMO.
2. We’ve hired Todd McFarlane and R.A. Salvatore to flesh it out for us.
3. We’re going to be innovative. It won’t be like other MMOs. It’ll be different.
4. Did we mention that McFarlane and Salvatore on on board?
I’m serious when I say that I’ve seen a lot of interviews given by the 38 studios people, and they are the most close-mouthed group of folks I’ve seen to date.
I’m not sure this PR strategy is a good one.
Gotta agree with Pig here. I would rather wait 2 years to read news than keep reading the same ‘ol same ‘ol.
Make sure your company never comes up with a release date until your 100% positive that you can get it out by then. And keep your mouth shut as long as you can about anything. Too much anticipation turns fans bitter after the 5th or 6th time in a row. You don’t want bitter fans do you?
Seems to me that most of the stuff I have seen is not the guys from 38 Studios offering to do interviews, but they are being asked to do them. Wouldn’t be very good of them to say “Sorry, I have nothing to talk about that hasn’t already been heard. Good day!”
