The Nerfbat Forums Are Back!
The Nerfbat Forums are back, my friends. Oh yes, they are back. What are the forums for? Talking about MMOs, MMO game design, and anything related to either one. There is a wonderful community of MMO bloggers and forum pontificators out there, but rarely do we directly communicate with each other (in a civilized manner). It’s like MUD-Dev, only updated for this millennium (yeah, I believe mailing lists are pretty much a thing of the past). Head on into the Nerfbat Forums and let’s start talking about MMOs.
Regular visitors here will probably recall a little something that got its start way back in April 2006 called the Nerfbat Tavern. That morphed into the MMO Round Table Forums. The discussions were absolutely incredible and we were really getting a great MMO design community together. Then I abandoned it at roughly the same time I stopped frequently posting on Nerfbat, and eventually everyone abandoned it. I’m happy to say that it is back, and with much more support. It has morphed one final time away from MMO Round Table to Nerfbat.com, since it makes it easier on me to maintain one cohesive site.
What are each of the forums for? It’s pretty self-explanatory, but:
MMO Design Discussion: Talk about massively multiplayer game design here. Theories, design ideas, critiques of current games. And, if you have any other commentary on things like art, sound, code, etc., feel free to talk about them within this forum despite its design-centric name.
The Quorum Census: Vote on and post polls in this forum. Keep polls related to gaming in some way. If you have a poll you want to run that has nothing to do with video games, they belong in the off-topic forum. And, yes, I know the forum’s name is contradictory.
Off-Topic Discussion: Talk about whatever you damn well please in here, like Nerfbat, 38 Studios, space, sports, cars, books, and quantum mechanics. Keep links somewhat clean, please (no nastiness, but if you link to nakedness and the like, please indicate if it’s NSFW).
There’s also a back room for developers and bloggers, but you’ll need to email me or PM me if you want access there, because I like to keep exclusive secret places totally exclusive so you can feel jealous. I look forward to seeing you in the Nerfbat Forums!

Oh yes they are here. All of us are waiting for more posters…muhaha!
