I am redesigning for a few reasons, not all of which have to do with desiring a new design. I still do like this design, but it’s so close to one of the free blogger themes (which I used to use), it obscures the identity of my site. That said, it won’t really look like this design at all. I think it’s nice to have a completely fresh look at times.

Anyway, I’m only a few steps out from completing the new theme. The design is done, 75% or so of the code is done. I’m down mostly to tweaks and implementing a few final pieces (like widgets).

I’d warn you againt redesigning simply to redesign. You are probably harming your “brand”. Now if you are building on what you already have and simply tweaking it then I am all for it.

I actually really like this theme. It’s modern, slick, and simple.

It just needs a couple tweaks here and there.

Wait, using the blink tag is BAD? Crap, I better start over… What about using the marquee tag or embedding music that can’t be stopped, because both of those are in the new design too…

As an experienced internet user I already know the new theme is terrible and am patiently waiting for you to give up on the new theme and have normal updates to continue with the current one.

Kidding aside, change is good and while I still like this theme, two years is a long time to keep one style(just look at Jennings’ site). One request about the new theme I know how tempting using the blink tag is whenever I redesign a webpage but for all of our sanity only use it sparingly!
