New Server: GuildCafe Alliance Rules!
Welcome to the new, super fast server for Nerfbat.com! If you’re seeing this, you have arrived at the new server, where you can comment and post again on the Nerfbat Forums. Big thanks go out to the folks at the GuildCafe Alliance for hosting and setting everything up. If you haven’t signed up for GuildCafe, do so and give me some respect so I can become a Knight!
Let me know if you notice any issues, like broken looking characters in the text. I’ll be changing the donations page to indicate that I no longer need to upgrade the server, but will use donations to fuel more frequent posts and, more importantly, to get some halfway decent recording equipment (read: microphone) and editing software for podcasting.
Note that the expected transition from phpBB to vBulletin did not occur, as there were issues with the import. Please try logging in, posting, etc. and let me know if you encounter any issues.

The forums are basically up. I still have no idea how to show older threads or do a bunch of other things. Let me know if you find any issues. I’ll actually announce something after it looks decent and I know it’s functional.
Too bad vbulliten kinda blows.
I dont think logins are working on the forums, unless all the passwords got reset.
vbulletin > phpbb
I go through all the trouble of switching providers and using you as a reference and you up and move? :p
For some reason the phpbb forums are showing up to me, not the vbulletin forums. Wonder whats going on.
Yeah, seriously. I’m still using Dreamhost for other random stuff, particularly because I’ve now prepaid for like 5-6 more months after getting donations and such. The offer was just too good to pass up, since it’s now as fast as the site would be if I had upgraded at DH, and it’s free!
All that said, I may use Dreamhost as my podcast host, or at least a mirror, to ensure that it doesn’t go to slow if it’s actually popular.
RE: Forums. They are back to phpBB because vBulletin jacked up the import (it doesn’t work correctly for the release version of phpBB3). Which reminds me… I need to disable the sweet RSS feed to the forums that I had going for a while. Ah well, it’ll be back when the forums go to vBulletin.
I doubt you’ll have trouble with bandwidth or download speeds with GuildCafe. Requiem has some pretty freaking sweet servers for GuildCafe and the GuildCafe Alliance
I like having my own personal web host just for a file host and I use it for a personal email account.
(Reads your Gaming History entry) You’ve never played WWIIOnline?? Or were your memories of it so deeply buried you didn’t have a long enough shovel to dig them up?
Nope, one of a few MMOs I have never played. It’s because they have people like you working on it. And I don’t like world wars. They are bad.
