Twitterpated
You’d think someone like me with a background in community would have signed up for Twitter a long time ago. Alas, I withheld until I could stay away no longer. I still don’t quite get it. It seems like a blog without the expectation that there will be substance in a post. Anyway, QforQ’s post finally prompted me to sign up. My name on Twitter is rshwayder.

Yeah, I pretty much did the same thing. I finally signed up for it a little while ago but I didn’t see the draw. We briefly used it in Sodality as a way to quickly get out information.
Since we don’t chase contested mobs these days it doesn’t really have a use. I’ll try to figure out how to follow you later today for the sake of just using the thing!
Ew you’re twitting.
I didn’t really get it at first but now I think of it as a chat system rather than a mini-blog. If you use it for notifications, it’s not that exciting. But I now have a good contact list (reasonable number of followings/followers who are interesting) and end up in fun conversations as well as getting fast answers to questions.
Most people who actually enjoy twitter have dismissed this concept of “what are you doing right now” and moved on to actual interaction.

Yea I joined the Twitter thing as well after finally moving to facebook from my archaic myspace living area. I never really used MySpace for anything substantial, but I can see Facebook as being a nice launching point for news on stuff I do in the near future. We’ll see, I suppose.
