The madness that is the Darkfall launch has me frothing at the mouth. I want to prey upon the weak both in-game and on blogs. I want to pwnsauce some lolnoobs really hard. Seriously, I do. This game and the crazy posts (Exhibits 1 | 2 | 3 | 4) have turned me back into a wolf. Before reading this, watch a little of the Apocryppahcryppah video. Funny? Yes. Would I ever in a million years broadcast this level of developer passion and product investment to the world? Hell no! If, the day after we announce the official title for “Copernicus,” I go to a single director (or above), producer, or marketing person, and they don’t know the name of the game… I will punch them in the face. Scratch that, I will punch any 38 Studios employee in the face if they don’t know the name of our game. A person invested in making a good game would know the title of EVE’s latest expansion, they wouldn’t sit there looking confused.

An innocent post declaring official forums a necessary evil led to some controversy. Garthilk, a guy who actually runs very good fansites like WHA, basically called me out and asked me to list 3 things that official forums do that fansite forums can’t. I’ll do him one better by talking briefly about 3 things official forums can do that unofficial forums can’t, and 3 things unofficial forums can do that official forums can’t.
