I Got Darkfall
I finally managed to get Darkfall. The grind required to buy the game was more impressive than any purchase-grind in history. But I’m so hardcore that I was finally able to give them my money after nearly two weeks of trying. In 2-3 hours my torrent will be done and I’ll get in there with the heart of a wolf, though I’ll be shorn repeatedly like the sheep I am. Ah, this is almost certainly a bad idea. They invented Browser-Refresh-PvP, so maybe more of their ideas will be awesome.
Looking forward to your impressions. I still have an interest in this one, but there are so many other games higher up in the queue.
Let me know if its a good setting for roleplaying and socializing and maybe some good PvE.
Hah, keep us posted! I’m oddly tempted by this game despite being 110% carebear, simply because the crafting system, guild towns and *other people killing each other* appeal to me. Sadly, it would probably also involve me getting repeatedly killed, so I’ll abstain for now.
Let us know if your mob ever needs awesomesauce crafting and has a sizeable bodyguard brigade.
I got into final beta, loaded it up and promptly threw up…
I’ve been playing Vanguard for over a month and enjoying life with friends and no PvP.
I’m still waiting on a better sandbox game, but Darkfall wasn’t it.
I have hope that some other company we all know of will make a better widget.
Darkfall’s purchasing process is designed to harden your core so that you’ll be hardcore enough to play the game.
I don’t think we should be using the term ‘hardcore’ until it is properly defined through more discussion here.
Maybe my attempt to get into Darkfall will top my experience trying to get into WAR. Just not ready for that at the moment, although I’d love to try. I just never catch the open purchasing times.
This game has more ridiculous server queues than any I’ve ever seen. I queued up around 2 and I’m not all the way through it… so about 3 hours to get into the game.
