Reckoning E3 Trailer
Check out the E3 trailer for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. The Reckoning site has also been updated with more information, so check that out. I suppose I’m not allowed to comment further than that, but I do want to read your comments.

Still not entirely sure what to think until I see the game in action, not brief snippets of specific animations, etc. I do like the art style, though… sometimes the trailer makes Reckoning seem almost like a God of War-style Action RPG?
I forget the story behind this — wasn’t BHG already making this game when 38S acquired them and it was slightly altered to accommodate the “Copernicus” lore?
So, wait, how does it work again? You come out of your hole, and if you see your shadow we get 6 more weeks of E3?
Or something like that, right?
I think you should send a free game demo to the five of us that still have your site in our RSS feed.
Psh.. there are at least 6 of us.
Looks incredibly exciting! That being said, I obviously will hold judgement until I actually play the game (or, at least, see some gameplay rather than just a trailer).
Hopefully there’ll be a demo, as I have trouble making the leap to buying a game without at least trying it first. Still, this is one of the few games I can see myself buying without that safety net.
Looks like there are still some updates here from time-to-time.
I’m excited for this game to be released.
Six..there are six of us
I really like the art. It’s gorgeous. Is the only option on the single player a male character? I prefer to play female and am always disappointed in games that don’t allow me that choice.
The artwork is very nice; I love my eye candy.
Howdy,
I think the game looks fantastic and I’m excited about it, but that’s not why I’m posting.
Please remove Extropica from the Bloginati links. yea, I still use it, and it’s spamming business news. Thanks!
I don’t normally use the word gorgeous when describing game worlds, but I will use it for describing Reckoning. I applaud the open-world and adventure rewards components of the game.
The timing factor with one-button attacks seems very intuitive. It allows you to watch more of the action and would seem to draw you more into the action. True switching on the fly between weapons and magic is easy. No hassles like memorizing button combos.
“Soft lock” seems interesting and may take some time getting used to, but it seemed to work pretty fluently during the demo.
Junk pile. It’s about damn time. Kudos to the team for going through with that idea.
The destiny system and unlocking hybrid destinies based on spending skill points is a great direction. The typical progression in most games, like choosing a class and then developing skills for that class always seemed backwards to me. Building up your skills so you can become a certain class, or in this case destiny, is going down the right road of character progression.
I was always going to play Reckoning, but the demo has definitely bumped it up to “I can’t wait to play Reckoning” status.
I love what I’m seeing.
The art for the Dokkalfar and Ljosalfar are reversed, at least according to the descriptions on the Explore: Races section.
Glad everyone is liking it. Also.. Extropica has been removed from the Bloginati links. I’ve been meaning to dump it, but I had to update to the latest WP version to fix it.
